<ISSEY MIYAKE Watch> Two “Fresh Green” Models to be Added to the “O” Series Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka

SEIKO NEXTAGE CO., LTD., announces that the ISSEY MIYAKE Watch Project, a consistent source of creative watches by world-renowned designers from diverse fields, will release, on March 11, 2016, two models in two shades of early spring green color in the “O” series by leading Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka.

“O” – the name derived from eau, the French word for water – is a bangle watch created by Yoshioka using a transparent material, his favorite one, based on the theme “Shape of Water – Counting Transparent Time.” Like water, it has no “shape” as it shines enigmatically in the light. This genderless watch weighs only 25 grams, is made of super-elastic transparent material, and is perfect for casual wear as a fashion accessory. First released in 2011, popular from the start, “O” now celebrates its fifth anniversary.

Tokujin Yoshioka is active in a wide range of design efforts in Japan and overseas, including products, architecture, spaces and installations. He is known for the clarity and simplicity of his designs resulting from his unique creative method of bringing the best of the material, and his “Transparent Glass Teahouse” installed in April 2014 on an elevated platform at Shogunzuka Seiryuden in Shorenin Temple Complex in Kyoto, where the entire view of the city is offered, has been the object of much recent attention.

The new watch models in light and darker green are a salute to the spirit of spring.
